Welcome to Wilpattu Safari Resort, located approximately 3 km from the Hunuwilgama entrance to Wilpattu National Park. Our property combines distinctive multi-level villa accommodation, peaceful jungle-facing surroundings, Sri Lankan hospitality and convenient access to private safari experiences.

The architecture is inspired by the elevated huts traditionally used in Sri Lanka’s rural chena cultivation areas. Today, the concept has been reinterpreted as tall, multi-level villas designed to connect guests with the surrounding natural landscape while providing modern comfort.

The Chena Hut Inspiration

Our resort’s architecture draws inspiration from the traditional elevated huts used by chena farmers in Sri Lanka. These simple structures were traditionally built to provide protection while allowing farmers to stay close to their cultivated lands.

We have reimagined this traditional concept into three-storey boutique villas that rise into the surrounding jungle landscape. Each villa combines the charm of elevated living with modern comfort and thoughtful design.
